The forehead area is the area that includes the upper third of the face. This area is smooth when young. However, serious lines or fold marks begin to appear in people's forehead areas due to repetitive use of forehead muscles over the years and photoaging.
These wrinkle lines are horizontal on the forehead and vertical between the eyebrows. There may be one or more parallel lines. The formation time and depth of these lines vary from person to person. The muscle that moves the forehead transversely is the frontal muscle. The muscles that make the eyebrows frown are the corrugator muscles.
Excessive use and strength of these muscles causes these lines to appear early and deepen. To prevent these lines, these muscles should be used less.
In people who make less facial expressions, wrinkle symptoms appear later. On the contrary, forehead lines appear more quickly in individuals who involuntarily use these muscles more.
In order to prevent or treat the formation of forehead lines or frown lines, it is necessary to first understand the cause. If a person has many transverse lines on the forehead, these scars will increase and appear prominent as long as the frown or forehead muscles contract.
Forehead botox is used to correct lines on the forehead, raise the eyebrows and make the forehead skin look younger and fresher.
No agent can be as effective in reducing forehead lines as Botox. Because forehead botox will reduce the contraction power of these muscles, the load on the forehead skin will decrease. In this way, the wrinkles on the forehead skin will be opened and the increase of these wrinkles will be prevented. However, if the lines on the forehead are very deep, forehead botox alone will not provide ideal results.
It is absolutely necessary to reinforce it with filler. In the differential diagnosis, if the forehead wrinkles do not disappear when the forehead skin is stretched or if there are depressions in the forehead lines, the combination of filler for the forehead lines and botox for the forehead lines gives the best results in such cases.
It is sufficient on its own to treat initial or mild forehead wrinkles. The life of the filler applied simultaneously with botox on the forehead is extended. Because the muscle resistance on the filler has decreased in the forehead area, which has been rendered static by botox. Likewise, treating frown lines is like treating forehead wrinkles.
Botox or dysport containing botulinum toxin type A can be applied in the treatment. Application areas and doses are adjusted according to the individual. In general, applying it between the lines on the forehead prevents wrinkles that form on the forehead when the eyebrows are raised. Applying botox to the eyebrows blocks the frown muscles and reduces the anger reflex.
Botox applied between the two eyebrows blocks the procerius muscle and prevents transverse lines at the root of the nose.
It also contributes to the reduction of the frown reflex through the frown muscles and their organized fibers. Generally, applying 25 units to the forehead area is usually sufficient.
Dose adjustment is made by animating the strength of the frown or forehead muscles and evaluating the lines it leaves on the forehead. The dose weight planned for the frown or forehead area varies.
The duration of effect varies from person to person. The effect continues at a good level for an average of 3-4 months. Its effect weakens and disappears within 4-6 months.
